بَابُ لَعْنِ الْكَافِرِ
Chapter: Cursing the Disbeliever
Hadith 321
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ: عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ محمد قال حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: قِيلَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، ادْعُ اللَّهَ عَلَى الْمُشْرِكِينَ، قَالَ: ”إِنِّي لَمْ أُبْعَثْ لَعَّانًا، وَلَكِنْ بُعِثْتُ رَحْمَةً.“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that it was said to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): O Messenger of Allah! Pray against the polytheists. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty has not sent me as one who curses, but rather He has sent me as a mercy."
