It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Barzah Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: I asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Guide me to an action that will admit me to Paradise?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Remove harmful things from the path of people."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "A man passed by a thorn lying on the road and said: I will surely remove this thorn from the road so that it does not harm any Muslim, so he was forgiven (because of this deed)."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The good and bad deeds of my Ummah were presented before me, and among their good deeds I saw that a harmful thing was removed from the road, and among their bad deeds I saw phlegm that was spat in the mosque and was not covered with earth."
