It is narrated from Sahl bin Hanzaliyah, and he did not have any children. He said: If, in the time of Islam, even an incomplete child of mine is born and I have certainty and hope for its reward with Allah, then this is more beloved to me than the whole world and whatever is in it.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Who among you is there who loves the wealth of his heir more than his own wealth?" The Companions replied: O Messenger of Allah! Each of us loves his own wealth more than the wealth of his heir. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Know that there is none among you who loves his own wealth more than the wealth of his heir. Your wealth is that which you have sent forward (by spending in the way of Allah), and the wealth of your heir is that which you have left behind in this world."
