Khalid Absi (may Allah have mercy on him) says that one of my sons passed away, so I was deeply grieved. Eventually, I said to Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), "Have you not heard anything from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding this, by which we may find comfort about those who have passed away?" He said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Your little children are the butterflies of Paradise."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "Whoever's three children die and he remains patient seeking reward, he will enter Paradise." We asked: O Messenger of Allah! What about the one whose two (children) die? He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever's two (children) die (he will also enter Paradise)." I said to Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him): By Allah! I think that if you had said 'the one with one (child)', he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would have surely said that the one whose one (child) dies, he too (will enter Paradise)." Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: By Allah! I also think the same.

Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a woman came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! We cannot come to your service, so please appoint a day for us in which we may come to you. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Your appointment is at the house of so-and-so." So, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to them as promised and in the admonition he gave them, he also said: "If any woman among you has three children die and she hopes for reward for them, she will certainly enter Paradise." A woman asked: And two children? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The same is for two." The narrator of the hadith, Suhail bin Abi Salih, was very strict in writing down hadith, and used to say: Remember it. No one could write a hadith in his presence.
It is narrated from Sayyida Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her) that I was once with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he said: "O Umm Sulaym! If any Muslim husband and wife lose three children, Allah will surely admit their parents to Paradise out of His grace and mercy upon those children." I asked: "And (will) two children (also be a cause for entering Paradise)?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The same ruling applies for two children."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa’sa’ah bin Mu’awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he met Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him), who at that time had a waterskin hanging under his arm. I asked: “Abu Dharr! How many children do you have?” He replied: “Shall I narrate to you a hadith?” I said: “Why not, certainly.” He said: “I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: ‘Any Muslim whose three children die before reaching the age of puberty, Allah will surely admit him to Paradise due to His mercy and compassion for those children. And any Muslim who frees a Muslim (slave), Allah will free each of his limbs from the Fire in exchange for each limb (of the slave).’”
