بَابُ الْوَصَاةِ بِالْجَارِ
Chapter: Enjoining Good Treatment of the Neighbor
Hadith 101
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي أُوَيْسٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عَمْرَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ”مَا زَالَ جِبْرِيلُ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُوصِينِي بِالْجَارِ حَتَّى ظَنَنْتُ أَنَّهُ سَيُوَرِّثُهُ.“
Narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Gabriel continued to urge me regarding the neighbor to the extent that I thought he would surely make him (the neighbor) an heir."
Hadith 102
حَدَّثَنَا صَدَقَةُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي شُرَيْحٍ الْخُزَاعِيِّ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ”مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلْيُحْسِنْ إِلَى جَارِهِ، وَمَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلْيُكْرِمْ ضَيْفَهُ، وَمَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلْيَقُلْ خَيْرًا أَوْ لِيَصْمُتْ.“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Shurayh (Khuwaylid bin Amr) Khuzai, may Allah be pleased with him, that he reports from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that he said: “Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should treat his neighbor well. And whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should honor his guest. And whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should speak good or remain silent.”
