بَابُ مَنْ لا يَرْحَمُ لا يُرْحَمُ
Chapter: Whoever Does Not Show Mercy Will Not Be Shown Mercy
Hadith 95
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلاءِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ شَيْبَانَ، عَنْ فِرَاسٍ، عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ”مَنْ لاَ يَرْحَمُ لاَ يُرْحَمُ.“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him), who reports from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that he said: "He who does not show mercy will not be shown mercy."
Hadith 96
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلامٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ، وَأَبِي ظَبْيَانَ، عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ”لَا يَرْحَمُ اللَّهُ مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمُ النَّاسَ.“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jarir bin Abdullah Bajali (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Allah does not show mercy to the one who does not show mercy to people."
Hadith 97
وَعَنْ عَبْدَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ”مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمُ النَّاسَ لَا يَرْحَمُهُ اللَّهُ.“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jarir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) (through another chain) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever does not show mercy to people, Allah will not show mercy to him."
Hadith 98
وَعَنْ عَبْدَةَ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ: أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَاسٌ مِنَ الأعْرَابِ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ مِنْهُمْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَتُقَبِّلُونَ الصِّبْيَانَ، فَوَاللَّهِ مَا نُقَبِّلُهُمْ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ”أَوَ أَمْلِكُ إِنْ كَانَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ نَزَعَ مِنْ قَلْبِكَ الرَّحْمَةَ؟.“
Narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), she said: Some Bedouins came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and one of them said: O Messenger of Allah! Do you kiss children? By Allah, we do not kiss them. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "What can I do if Allah has removed mercy from your heart?"
Hadith 99
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ اسْتَعْمَلَ رَجُلاً، فَقَالَ الْعَامِلُ: إِنَّ لِي كَذَا وَكَذَا مِنَ الْوَلَدِ، مَا قَبَّلْتُ وَاحِدًا مِنْهُمْ، فَزَعَمَ عُمَرُ، أَوْ قَالَ عُمَرُ: إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لاَ يَرْحَمُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ إِلاَّ أَبَرَّهُمْ.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) appointed a man as an official. (One day) that man said: I have so many children, but I have never kissed any of them. Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Indeed, Allah the Exalted only has mercy on those who fulfill rights.
