Kulaib bin Manfa‘ah narrates that his grandfather (Bakr bin Harith Ansari) submitted: O Messenger of Allah! With whom should I show good conduct? The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Show good conduct to your mother, your father, your sister, and your brother. And show good conduct to other relatives besides them as well. This is a due right, and maintaining ties of kinship and upholding family relations is obligatory.”

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that when this verse was revealed: «وَأَنْذِرْعَشِيرَتَكَالْأَقْرَبِينَ»[سورہ الشعراء: 214] "And warn your closest relatives," the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) (gathered the Quraysh and) stood up and called out: "O Banu Ka'b bin Lu'ayy! Save yourselves from the Fire. O Banu 'Abd Manaf! Save yourselves from the Fire. O Banu Hashim! Save yourselves from the Fire. O Banu 'Abd al-Muttalib! Save yourselves from the Fire. O Fatimah bint Muhammad! Save your soul from the Fire. I do not possess anything for you from Allah except that I maintain the ties of kinship with you."
