بَابُ لاَ يُسَمِّي الرَّجُلُ أَبَاهُ، وَلاَ يَجْلِسُ قَبْلَهُ، وَلاَ يَمْشِي أَمَامَهُ
Chapter: Not Calling Father by Name, Nor Sitting or Walking Before Him
Hadith 44
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ زَكَرِيَّا، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ , أَوْ غَيْرِهِ أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ أَبْصَرَ رَجُلَيْنِ، فَقَالَ لأَحَدِهِمَا: مَا هَذَا مِنْكَ؟ فَقَالَ: أَبِي، فَقَالَ: لاَ تُسَمِّهِ بِاسْمِهِ، وَلاَ تَمْشِ أَمَامَهُ، وَلا تَجْلِسْ قَبْلَهُ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Urwah bin Zubair (may Allah have mercy on him) that Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) saw two men together, so he asked one of them: "What is your relation to this other person?" He replied: "He is my father." Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Do not call him by his name, do not walk ahead of him, and do not sit (in a gathering) before he sits."
