Abu Usaid (Sayyiduna Malik bin Rabi’ah) رضي الله عنه, while narrating to his people, said: We were with the Noble Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم one day when a man said: O Messenger of Allah! Is there anything left by which I can show kindness to my parents after their death? The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “Yes! There are four things: praying for them, seeking forgiveness for them, fulfilling their bequests, honoring and respecting their friends, and maintaining the ties of kinship that are connected only through the parents.”
