Hadith 998

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Fadala bin Ubaid (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The rider should greet the one who is walking, the one who is walking should greet the one who is sitting, and a smaller group should greet a larger group."

Hadith Takhrij «
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Maulana Usman Muneeb
Benefits and Issues:
This instruction is given to the rider so that arrogance does not enter his heart, and the command for those who are fewer in number to initiate the greeting (salam) to those who are greater in number is out of respect for them.
