It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I learned about a hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) which was with one of the companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), so I bought a camel. And after traveling for a month on my mount, I reached him in Syria. I found out that the companion was Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Unais (may Allah be pleased with him). I sent a message that Jabir has come to your door. The messenger returned and said: Jabir bin Abdullah? I said: Yes. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Unais (may Allah be pleased with him) came out and embraced me. I said: I have learned of a hadith which I have not heard, and I feared that either you or I might die and I would not be able to hear it directly. He said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "Allah will gather the people in such a way that they will be naked, uncircumcised, and 'buhm'." I asked: What is the meaning of 'buhm'? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "They will have nothing with them. Then Allah will call them with a voice which will be heard equally by those who are far and those who are near: I am the King. No person of Paradise will enter Paradise until any right of a person of Hell upon him is fulfilled, and no person of Hell will enter Hell until any right of a person of Paradise upon him is fulfilled." I asked: How will the rights be fulfilled when we will be naked before Allah and will have nothing else with us? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "It will be settled by good deeds and bad deeds."

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Maulana Usman Muneeb
Benefits and Issues: ➊ From this, it is established that embracing a brother returning from travel is recommended (mustahabb). It is also understood that in ordinary meetings, one should suffice with greeting (salam) and shaking hands (musafahah). ➋ The zeal for acquiring hadith, striving for it, and the passion for collecting it existed even in the era of the Companions (Sahabah). And it was the noble Companions (radi Allahu anhum) themselves who initiated this effort. Therefore, the assumption is completely incorrect that the compilation of hadith began a hundred years later. The formal compilation in the era of the Followers (Tabi'in) does not at all mean that it started after the passing of the last Companion; rather, the era of the Tabi'in begins right after the passing of the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), and from that time, they began collecting the hadith of the Messenger (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam). ➌ Matters of mutual rights should be settled in this world itself. The situation on the Day of Resurrection will be extremely severe. There, in exchange for the rights violated, one will have to give away good deeds, or else take upon oneself the sins of others. May Allah protect us from that.
