It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him), he said that a child was born to a man from the Ansar, and he named him Muhammad. The Ansar said: We will not call you by the Kunya of Allah’s Messenger until we sit on the road to ask you about the Hour. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Have you come to ask me about the Hour?” We said: Yes. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “There is no living soul that will complete one hundred years (but the Hour will come upon it).” We said: A child has been born to an Ansari, and he has named him Muhammad, so the Ansar have said to him that we will never call you by the Kunya of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), (i.e., we will not call you Abu al-Qasim). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “The Ansar have done well. Name after my name, but do not take my Kunya.”
