It is narrated from Abu Razin (may Allah have mercy on him) that I saw Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) striking his forehead with his hand, and he was saying: O people of Iraq! Do you think that I would lie against the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)? Would there be pleasure and comfort for you and sin upon me? I bear witness that I certainly heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "When the strap of any one of you (his shoe) breaks, he should not walk in the other (single) shoe until he has fixed it."

Benefits and Issues: ➊ Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah radi Allahu anhu expressed amazement at the people of Iraq, saying: "What kind of people are you who think that I attribute things to the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam without basis? Why would I ruin my Hereafter for your benefit?" ➋ If the strap or the other part of one shoe breaks, then until it is repaired, the other shoe should also be taken off.
