It is narrated from Sayyiduna Salamah bin Akwa’ (may Allah be pleased with him), he said that a man sneezed in the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), so the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: «يرحمك الله». When he sneezed again, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "He has a cold."

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Maulana Usman Muneeb
Benefits and Issues: Just as the one who does not say "alhamdulillah" is not to be given the response to a sneeze, similarly, the one who sneezes repeatedly due to illness is also not to be given the response. The limit for this has been mentioned in the hadith as three times: the response is to be given up to three times, and if the person sneezes more than that, then it should be made known that he is ill.
