It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man said: O Messenger of Allah! We were in a house in which our family members and wealth were abundant, then we moved to another house in which our number decreased and our wealth also diminished. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Leave that house in its blameworthy state." Abu Abdullah Imam Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) said: The chain of narration of this report is questionable.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Maulana Usman Muneeb
Benefits and Issues:
At times, due to the house being cramped, or the pathway being narrow, or a change in climate, a person does not find it suitable and becomes afflicted with illnesses, or it may be that the place is inhabited by devils (shayatin) who cause harm to the person, due to which he comes to dislike that house. In such a situation, the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) instructed to change the house so that one’s creed (aqidah) is not corrupted. The house itself has no personal influence in this matter.
