حَدَّثَنَا مَكِّيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا رَأَى مَخِيلَةً دَخَلَ وَخَرَجَ، وَأَقْبَلَ وَأَدْبَرَ، وَتَغَيَّرَ وَجْهُهُ، فَإِذَا مَطَرَتِ السَّمَاءُ سُرِّيَ، فَعَرَّفَتْهُ عَائِشَةُ ذَلِكَ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ”وَمَا أَدْرِي لَعَلَّهُ كَمَا قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: ﴿فَلَمَّا رَأَوْهُ عَارِضًا مُسْتَقْبِلَ أَوْدِيَتِهِمْ﴾ [الأحقاف: 24].“
Narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw clouds, he would become (concerned), he would go inside, come out, and walk back and forth, and the color of his face would change. Then when rain would fall from the sky, his concern would be relieved. When Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) inquired about the reason, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "How do I know, perhaps it is as Allah the Exalted has said: «فَلَمَّا رَأَوْهُ عَارِضًا مُسْتَقْبِلَ أَوْدِيَتِهِمْ» [الأحقاف: 24] Then when they saw a cloud coming towards their valleys..."
