It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The curse of Allah is upon the person who misleads a blind man from the right path."

Benefits and Issues:
➊ It is the habit of many people to trouble those who are excused (ma‘dhur), and they consider it a source of amusement. According to the Shari‘ah, doing so is a grave sin. Guiding someone to the correct path is a cause for entering Paradise, so to misguide someone—especially a blind person—is a cause for Allah’s curse and being distanced from His mercy, and it is a major sin (kabirah).

➋ From this, it is understood that breaking or damaging signboards that are installed for people’s guidance is a sinful act. Often, this leads to very serious accidents, and the burden of these also falls upon those who damage these symbolic boards.
