Hadith 872

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man or a Bedouin came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and spoke very clearly. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, some eloquence is magical in its effect, and some poetry is based on wisdom."

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Maulana Usman Muneeb
Benefits and Issues:
There are two types of eloquence. One is that which clarifies the intended meaning in any manner. The second is that which penetrates the hearts of the listeners and captivates them. At times, this becomes a barrier between the listener and the reality. The second type is similar to magic when it influences the heart. When such eloquence leads towards the truth, it is praiseworthy, and when it leads towards falsehood, it is blameworthy.
