The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What about my lineage?" He said: "I will separate you from them just as a hair is taken out from kneaded dough."

Benefits and Issues:
It is permissible to recite poetry in condemnation of the enemy. Hazrat Hassan radi Allahu anhu used to defend the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam and condemn the polytheists. In satirical poetry, it is generally the defects of lineage and ancestry that are mentioned. The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said to Hazrat Hassan when he sought permission to compose poetry condemning Abu Sufyan, "My lineage and his are the same, so what will become of me?" Upon this, Hazrat Hassan radi Allahu anhu said the aforementioned statement.
