It is narrated from Sayyiduna Aswad bin Sari’ (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I was a poet, so I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: Shall I not recite to you some poetry with which I have praised my Lord? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Indeed, your Lord loves praise.” He did not say anything more than this.
