Hadith 86

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Bara’ (bin Azib) رضي الله عنه, he says: I saw the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم that he had Sayyiduna Hasan رضي الله عنه lifted on his shoulder, and he was saying: “O Allah! I love him, so You also love him.”

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Maulana Usman Muneeb
Benefits and Issues:
➊ If there is no apparent impurity on children's clothes, then their ruling is the same as that of pure clothes, because the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) did not inquire about the details of this matter, even though it is often assumed that children's clothes are impure. Similarly, the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) performed prayer while carrying his granddaughter Umamah (radi Allahu anha).

➋ Love for Sayyiduna Hasan and Husayn (radi Allahu anhuma) is a part of faith and a means of attaining the supplication of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), as is mentioned in some narrations: "O Allah! Love those who love him." However, this love does not at all mean that they should be considered as removers of difficulties or fulfillers of needs; this is not love, but rather enmity towards them, because turning away from someone's teachings is not love but a sign of hatred. These noble personalities never taught such things; rather, throughout their lives, they taught the message of tawhid (the oneness of Allah) and abstained from the prohibited matters.
