It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: O Messenger of Allah! Why do you not give me a kunyah (honorific title)? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Take your kunyah from your son, that is, Abdullah bin Zubair." Thus, she was called Umm Abdullah.
