It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him), he says that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) intended to prohibit naming with names like Ya'la, Barakah, Nafi', Yasar, Aflah, and similar names, then he remained silent about it and did not say anything regarding this.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Maulana Usman Muneeb
Benefits and Issues: ➊ The statement of not prohibiting was made by Sayyiduna Jabir radi Allahu anhu according to his knowledge; otherwise, its prohibition is established from other hadiths, as narrated from Samurah bin Jundub radi Allahu anhu in Sahih Muslim. It is possible that he expressed this desire again so that those who were not aware would also be informed. ➋ This prohibition is not for unlawfulness (haram) but for dislike (karahah), meaning that giving such names is disliked, not forbidden, because some of these names belonged to your close companions, yet you did not change them. However, since a bad omen could be taken from this, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam prohibited it as a precaution.
