It is narrated from Sayyiduna Muti’ bin Aswad ‘Adawi (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say on the day of the conquest of Makkah: “From today until the Day of Resurrection, no Quraishi will be taken captive and killed.” Thus, among the men of Quraish named ‘As, on that day none became Muslim except Muti’. His name was ‘As, so the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) named him Muti’.
