حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ قَابُوسَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: أَقْبَلَ نَبِيُّ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُسْرِعًا وَنَحْنُ قُعُودٌ، حَتَّى أَفْزَعَنَا سُرْعَتُهُ إِلَيْنَا، فَلَمَّا انْتَهَى إِلَيْنَا سَلَّمَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: ”قَدْ أَقْبَلْتُ إِلَيْكُمْ مُسْرِعًا، لِأُخْبِرَكُمْ بِلَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ، فَنَسِيتُهَا فِيمَا بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَكُمْ، فَالْتَمِسُوهَا فِي الْعَشْرِ الأوَاخِرِ.“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) that he said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came quickly while we were sitting. He came so quickly that we became anxious due to his haste. When he arrived, he greeted us with salam, then said: "I came to you quickly to inform you about Laylat al-Qadr, but as I was coming to you, I forgot. Therefore, now seek it in the last ten nights."

The chain of narration of this report is weak; however, the matter of seeking Laylat al-Qadr in the last ten nights is established from other authentic ahadith. Furthermore, the determination of Laylat al-Qadr was lifted due to the quarrel among the people.
