Hadith 807

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I was the servant of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and I used to enter his house without permission. One day I came, and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "O my son! Wait, a new command has been revealed after you left. Now, do not enter without permission under any circumstances."

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Maulana Usman Muneeb
Benefits and Issues:
➊ The connection of this hadith with the chapter heading is that the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) addressed Anas (radi Allahu anhu) as "son." From this, it is understood that a teacher may, out of affection, call his students "son," and there is no harm in this.
➋ This hadith is evidence of the noble character of the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), as he taught the legal ruling to our master Anas (radi Allahu anhu) in a most beautiful manner. It is also understood that intelligent children should be taught legal rulings, even if they have not yet reached the age of puberty.
➌ This ruling was given after the revelation of the rulings concerning veiling (hijab).
