It is narrated from Sayyiduna Buraidah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went towards the mosque while Sayyiduna Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) was reciting there. The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked: "Who is it?" I replied: "May I be sacrificed for you, it is Buraidah." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "He has been given a portion of the melodious voice of the family of Dawud."

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Maulana Usman Muneeb
Benefits and Issues: ➊ By "the family of Dawud," what is meant here is actually Sayyiduna Dawud (alayhis salam) himself, who was granted a very beautiful and impactful voice. Although "mizmar" refers to singing and melody, here it means a beautiful voice. ➋ In this narration, "may my father and mother be sacrificed for him" (fidahu abi wa ummi) is not mentioned; rather, only the sacrificing of one's own self is mentioned. Its connection with the previous chapter is more appropriate.
