It is narrated from Ikrimah (may Allah have mercy on him) that I asked Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): Have you ever heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) recite poetry? She said: Sometimes when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would enter the house, he would recite this verse: "He will bring you news of what you have not prepared for."

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Maulana Usman Muneeb
Benefits and Issues: This verse is by Tarafah bin Al-Abd, the beginning of which is as follows: "Satabdi laka al-ayyam ma kunta jahilan... wa ya’tika bil-akhbari man lam tuzawwid." The meaning is that, with the passage of time, many things become known to a person of which he was previously unaware, and a time will come when news will reach a person without him having to seek it out. Today, social and electronic media have proven this point, as a person sitting at home receives news from all over the world.
