Benefits and Issues:
The meaning of the hadith is that these qualities have been granted by Allah, the Exalted, to the Prophets (alayhimus-salam); therefore, by adopting them, follow in the footsteps of the Prophets. This does not mean that prophethood consists of various components and whoever adopts these qualities attains prophethood. It should be remembered that prophethood is not something that can be acquired. Some have also interpreted it to mean that those in whom these attributes are found receive honor and respect among people, and Allah, the Exalted, bestows upon them the piety with which He favors His Prophets, and people honor them just as they honor the Prophets.
