It is narrated from Abu Harith Kermani, may Allah have mercy on him, that I heard a man say to Abu Raja: I greet you with peace and ask Allah Almighty to gather me and you in the abode of His mercy. Abu Raja said: Do you have any power over this? And he said: Do you know what the abode of mercy is? He said: Paradise! Abu Raja said: Your answer is wrong. He asked: Then what is the abode of mercy? Abu Raja said: The abode of mercy means the Lord of all the worlds.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Maulana Usman Muneeb
Benefits and Issues: A "mustaqarr" (abode) refers to a place where something settles. Mercy (rahmah) is an attribute, and its source and abode is the Essence of Allah, the Exalted. Paradise (Jannah) is metaphorically called the place of mercy, meaning that the effects of Allah’s mercy will be manifested therein.
