Hadith 743

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Shurayh (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should speak good or remain silent, and whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should honor his guest for a day and a night with special hospitality, and hospitality is for three days; whatever is given after that is charity. And it is not permissible for the guest to stay so long with the host that he puts him in difficulty.”
