It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both), he said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated in this mosque, meaning the Mosque of Fath, on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. On Wednesday, between the two prayers, the supplication of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was accepted. Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Whenever any extremely important matter confronted me, I would choose that same time to supplicate. Thus, whenever I supplicated to Allah Almighty on Wednesday, between the two prayers, I certainly saw signs of acceptance.

Explanation & Benefits

Benefits and Issues: ➊ The apparent connection of this supplication with the chapter is not clear; however, it is possible that the Imam rahimahullah intended by bringing this hadith to show that istikhara is a supplication (du'a) and it can be made repeatedly, in fact, it should be done repeatedly, just as the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam supplicated repeatedly on the occasion of the Trench (Khandaq). ➋ Supplication (du'a) should be made continuously, because at any moment it may coincide with the hour of acceptance. Just as the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam supplicated continuously for three days, and on the third day it was accepted. ➌ Jabir radi Allahu anhu considered the time when the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam’s supplication was accepted as a time of general acceptance, and he supplicated at that time, so his supplication was also accepted. It is possible that this time was between the adhan and the iqamah, and regarding this hour the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam himself informed about the acceptance of supplication. ➍ This incident is from the Battle of Ahzab, and at that time there was no mosque at that place. Later, a mosque was built there, which is called Masjid Ahzab and also Masjid A’la. After your supplication, a severe wind blew, the tents of the polytheists were uprooted, and they fled.
