بَابُ دَعَوَاتِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَChapter: The Prophet's ﷺ Supplications
Hadith 680
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْهَادِ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : ”اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَسِيحِ الدَّجَّالِ ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ النَّارِ .“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with them both) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) supplicating: "O Allah! I seek refuge with You from the trial of the False Messiah (Dajjal). And I seek refuge with You from the trial of the Fire."

Benefits and Issues:
The mention of the Masih Dajjal has already passed. The meaning of the trial of fire is: grant me refuge from such a trial by which I would enter the fire. In other words, the attribution of the trial is to its cause.
