It is narrated from Sayyiduna Shakl bin Humaid (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: I submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! Teach me a supplication from which I may benefit." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: «اللَّهُمَّعَافِنِيمِنْشَرِّسَمْعِي،وَبَصَرِي،وَلِسَانِي،وَقَلْبِي،وَشَرِّمَنِيِّي» "You should supplicate: O Allah! Grant me safety from the evil of my ears, my eyes, my tongue, and my heart. And protect me from the evil of my semen." Waki’ (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "From the evil of semen" means adultery and immorality, that is, I seek Your protection from falling into adultery.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Maulana Usman Muneeb
Benefits and Issues: ➊ The evil of the ears is that a person listens to backbiting, or hears lies and sinful and immoral talk through them. The treachery of the eyes and their looking at what is forbidden is their evil, and foul speech is the evil of the tongue, and the evil of the heart is disbelief, atheism, and polytheism. Whoever protects himself from all these matters has been safeguarded from every kind of evil. ➋ The evil of semen (mani) is that, due to its dominance, a person may fall into fornication or commit other acts of disobedience and sin. ➌ In some narrations, it is mentioned that they asked the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) to teach them words of seeking refuge, so he taught them the above-mentioned supplication.
