Hadith 655

Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The supplication of every one of you is certainly accepted as long as he does not pray for a sin or for severing ties of kinship, or he does not become hasty, such that he says: I made supplication but I do not think it has been accepted, then he gives up supplicating."

Explanation & Benefits

Benefits and Issues:
One should continue to supplicate (make du'a) both in difficult circumstances and in times of ease, and should have certainty that these supplications will not be wasted. In one hadith, it is mentioned that when times are good, maintain your relationship with Allah, and when hardship befalls, He will recognize you.
In another narration, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said:
((Whoever would be pleased that Allah responds to him during times of hardship, let him supplicate abundantly during times of ease.)) (Tirmidhi: 3382. Sahihah: 593)
"Whoever is pleased that Allah accepts his supplication in times of difficulty, let him supplicate abundantly in times of ease."
