It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that he used to frequently supplicate: “O Allah! Rectify our affairs, guide us to the path of Islam, grant us deliverance from darkness into light, keep us away from all kinds of indecency and evil, both outward and inward, and bless our ears, our eyes, our hearts, and our wives and children. And accept our repentance, indeed You are the Acceptor of repentance, Most Merciful. Make us among those who are grateful for Your blessings, who praise them, and who acknowledge them, and complete Your favor upon us.”

Benefits and Issues: In this supplication of Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (radi Allahu anhu), goodness and well-being of both this world and the Hereafter have been sought. When a servant's affairs are set right, he is granted the ability to follow Islam, he is saved from the darkness of disbelief and polytheism, he is blessed with a life of chastity, all his limbs and his family members are safe and sound, his Lord is merciful to him, he is one who gives thanks for blessings, and all the aforementioned things are present in the most complete manner—then what remains that he could still be in need of?
