حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ ، عَنْ هِلالِ بْنِ يَسَافٍ ، عَنْ زَاذَانَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، قَالَتْ : صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الضُّحَى ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : ”اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي ، وَتُبْ عَلَيَّ ، إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ “، حَتَّى قَالَهَا مِائَةَ مَرَّةٍ .
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), she said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed the Duha prayer, then kept reciting this supplication: «اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي، وَتُبْ عَلَيَّ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ» "O Allah, forgive me and accept my repentance, surely You are the Most Accepting of repentance, the Most Merciful." He recited this supplication one hundred times.

Benefits and Issues:
From this, it is understood that although the above-mentioned words are not Sayyid al-Istighfar, these words of repentance (tawbah) and seeking forgiveness (istighfar) are also based on great virtue. It is also understood that for remembrance (dhikr) and supplications (adhkar), there is no requirement for any specific form or posture.
