Hadith 588

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا فِطْرٌ، عَنْ أَبِي يَحْيَى قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ مُجَاهِدًا، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: لَوْ أَنَّ جَبَلاً بَغَى عَلَى جَبَلٍ لَدُكَّ الْبَاغِي.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) that he said: If one mountain shows arrogance over another, the arrogant one will be crushed to pieces.

Benefits and Issues:
The point is that rebellion is a very dangerous sin, to the extent that even if inanimate objects were to commit it, the rebellious one would be shattered to pieces, or if the one against whom rebellion is being committed were to perish, then the rebel would also not survive and would be shattered to pieces.
