Benefits and Issues: ➊ Regarding the Bedouins who live in the wilderness, it is mentioned in the Qur’an that they are more inclined towards disbelief and hypocrisy than towards faith, because they have very few opportunities to listen to admonition and counsel. Therefore, urban life is better from a religious perspective.
➋ Monasticism and choosing to reside in the wilderness is a major sin; however, if a person’s religion is in danger, then to protect oneself from tribulations, one may do so. Especially after migration (hijrah), adopting a Bedouin lifestyle is a grave sin.
