It is narrated from Sayyiduna ‘Abdah bin Hazn (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: The camel herders and the goat herders boasted against each other. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Musa (peace be upon him) was made a prophet while he was a shepherd of goats. Dawud (peace be upon him) was made a prophet while he was a shepherd of goats, and I was sent as a prophet while I used to graze the goats of my family at the place of Ajyad.”

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Maulana Usman Muneeb
Benefits and Issues: Raising goats is more blessed and virtuous compared to camels and other livestock, because the majority of the Prophets (alayhimussalam) used to herd goats. The inspiration to herd goats is evidence that this is beloved to Allah Ta'ala, so that the Prophets (alayhimussalam) may be trained in gathering scattered people together.
