Hadith 530

حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي الْوَلِيدُ ، هُوَ ابْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْحَارِثُ بْنُ عُبَيْد اللَّهِ الأَنْصَارِيُّ ، قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ أُمَّ الدَّرْدَاءِ ، عَلَى رِحَالِهَا أَعْوَادٌ لَيْسَ عَلَيْهَا غِشَاءٌ ، عَائِدَةً لِرَجُلٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَسْجِدِ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ .
It is narrated from Harith bin Ubaidullah Ansari (may Allah have mercy on him) that I saw Sayyida Umm Darda (may Allah be pleased with her) on a litter made of wood, and it did not have a covering. She had come to visit an Ansari from among the people of the mosque who was ill.

The chain of narration of this report is weak; in it, the narrator Harith bin Ubaydullah is of unknown status (majhool al-haal). However, it is permissible for women to nurse (take care of) non-mahram men, as has been mentioned in the previous pages.
