It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty will say on the Day of Resurrection: O servant! I asked you for food but you did not feed Me. The servant will say: O my Lord! How could I feed You when You are the Lord of all the worlds? Allah Almighty will say: Did you not know that My such-and-such servant asked you for food and you did not feed him? Did you not know that if you had fed him, you would have found that with Me? O son of Adam! I asked you for water but you did not give Me to drink. He will say: O my Lord! How could I give You to drink when You are the Lord of all the worlds? Allah Almighty will say: My such-and-such servant asked you for water but you did not give him to drink. Did you not know that if you had given him to drink, you would have found that with Me? O son of Adam! I fell ill but you did not visit Me. He will say: O my Lord! How could I visit You when You are the Lord of all the worlds? Allah Almighty will say: Did you not know that My such-and-such servant fell ill, and if you had visited him, you would have found that with Me, or you would have found Me with him."
