It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Nahilah (may Allah be pleased with him), he was requested: Pray (for us). He supplicated thus: O Allah, lessen the illness but do not decrease the reward. It was requested of him: Pray more. He said: O Allah! Include me among Your close servants and join my mother with the maidens of Paradise (Hoor al-‘Ayn).
Explanation & Benefits

Benefits and Issues:
➊ It has been mentioned in the previous pages that for a believer, illness is a means of reward and recompense, whereas the suffering of a disbeliever and a hypocrite goes to waste. And Allah, the Exalted, is capable of granting great reward for a small affliction; therefore, a person should ask for a reduction in illness and an increase in reward.
➋ It is a person’s good fortune that he attains nearness to Allah, the Exalted, and many people are unaware of whether they are close to Allah or whether Allah loves them. Whoever becomes aware of this, his life is transformed.
