Hadith 482

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي أُوَيْسٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ نَظَرَ نَحْوَ الْيَمَنِ فَقَالَ: ”اللَّهُمَّ أَقْبِلْ بِقُلُوبِهِمْ“، وَنَظَرَ نَحْوَ الْعِرَاقِ فَقَالَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ، وَنَظَرَ نَحْوَ كُلِّ أُفُقٍ فَقَالَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ، وَقَالَ: ”اللَّهُمَّ ارْزُقْنَا مِنْ تُرَاثِ الأَرْضِ، وَبَارِكْ لَنَا فِي مُدِّنَا وَصَاعِنَا.“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on the pulpit: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) looked towards Yemen and said, "O Allah! Turn their hearts towards us." And he looked towards Iraq and supplicated in the same way, rather, he supplicated in the same way while looking in every direction and said, "O Allah! Grant us sustenance from the produce of the earth and bless us in the measures of mudd and sa’ (units of measurement)."

The chain of narration of this report is weak. Abu al-Zubayr al-Makki is a mudallis. However, the supplication for the blessing of the mudd and sa’ is established from other authentic ahadith.
