Hadith 477

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيٌّ، قَالَ‏:‏ حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ، قَالَ‏:‏ حَدَّثَنَا قِنَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ النَّهْمِيُّ، قَالَ‏:‏ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَوْسَجَةَ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ قَالَ‏:‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏ ”الأَشَرَةُ شَرٌّ‏.‏“
Narrated from Sayyiduna Bara' bin 'Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Showing off is a very bad act."
