Hadith 475

Narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that I was riding a stubborn camel, so I began to beat it. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Be gentle, for gentleness beautifies whatever it is in, and when it is taken away from something, it makes it ugly."

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Maulana Usman Muneeb
Benefits and Issues:
A person's beauty lies in his gentleness and excellent character. Gentleness elevates even an ordinary person to great heights, while harshness and severity destroy a person's honor and respect. A harsh-tempered person is like that lone tree in the wilderness, around which there may be herbs, but no flowers are to be found anywhere.
