Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Beware of miserliness, for it destroyed those before you. They shed each other's blood and severed their family ties because of it, and oppression will appear as darknesses on the Day of Resurrection."

Explanation & Benefits

Benefits and Issues:
A miserly person cannot be gentle-natured. He will be harsh-tempered; miserliness also becomes a cause of harshness. For this reason, mutual quarrels and disputes arise, and matters even reach the point of killing and bloodshed. Then, a person does not refrain from oppressing one another. Therefore, miserliness should be avoided in every situation, and gentleness of temperament should be promoted.
