Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Maulana Usman Muneeb
Benefits and Issues:
➊ If a noble and honorable person, whose reputation is good, commits a minor or major mistake, then instead of holding him strictly accountable, one should act with forgiveness and forbearance. For a noble person, even such a reprimand is sufficient. However, if a person is of bad character and openly sinful (fasiq), then a strict approach should be taken with him.

➋ If this slip is of such a nature that it necessitates the implementation of a prescribed punishment (hadd), for example, if someone commits adultery, theft, or falsely accuses someone, then in such a case the prescribed punishment (hadd) will be enforced and the person will also be punished. In matters of prescribed punishments (hudud), showing leniency is impermissible.
