بَابُ مَنِ اتَّخَذَ الْغُرَفَChapter: One Who Made Upper Rooms
Hadith 458
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الضَّحَّاكُ بْنُ نِبْرَاسٍ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ مَعَ أَنَسٍ بِالزَّاوِيَةِ فَوْقَ غُرْفَةٍ لَهُ، فَسَمِعَ الأَذَانَ، فَنَزَلَ وَنَزَلْتُ، فَقَارَبَ فِي الْخُطَا فَقَالَ: كُنْتُ مَعَ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ فَمَشَى بِي هَذِهِ الْمِشْيَةَ وَقَالَ: أَتَدْرِي لِمَ فَعَلْتُ بِكَ؟ فَإِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَشَى بِي هَذِهِ الْمِشْيَةَ وَقَالَ: ”أَتَدْرِي لِمَ مَشَيْتُ بِكَ؟“ قُلْتُ: اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ، قَالَ: ”لِيَكْثُرَ عَدَدُ خُطَانَا فِي طَلَبِ الصَّلاةِ.“
It is narrated from Thabit (may Allah have mercy on him) that he was with Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) in the upper room of his residence in the corner (where Sayyiduna Anas had his house). They heard the call to prayer, so he came down and I also came down. While walking, he took short steps and said: I was with Sayyiduna Zayd bin Thabit Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him), and he also walked with me in the same way, taking short steps, and said: Do you know why I am walking with you like this? Because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) walked with me at this pace, and he (peace be upon him) said: “Do you know why I am walking with you at this pace?” I said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He (peace be upon him) said: “So that the number of our steps in seeking the prayer may increase.”
