Hadith 45

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ شَيْبَةَ قَالَ‏:‏ أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ نُبَاتَةَ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَوْهَبٍ، عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ قَالَ‏:‏ خَرَجْنَا مَعَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، فَقَال لَهُ سَالِمٌ‏:‏ الصَّلاَةَ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ‏.‏
It is narrated from Shahr bin Hawshab: We were going with Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them), when his (son) Salim said to him: Abu Abdur Rahman! The time for prayer has come.

Benefits and Issues:
This narration is weak due to Shahr ibn Hawshab. Therefore, the chapter heading is not established from it. However, the nature of the issue remains that a son may address his father with a kunyah (patronymic), as will be made clear from the following athar (narration from a Companion).
